NGAP Geothermal Course (Module 3)

NGAP-NZ Geothermal Institute Training on Subsurface, Resource Assessment and Modelling

As part of the National Geothermal Association of the Philippines’ (NGAP) key objective of encouraging, facilitating and coordinating activities related to the exploration, development and management of geothermal resources, we have collaborated with the New Zealand Geothermal Institute to conduct a training course in the Philippines to be provided by their experts

The program was distilled from their courses in the NZ Geothermal Program, covering a mix of basics, some details around the key aspects common in the industry operations and highlights lectures on advanced topics. The course outline is shown in Attachment 1. Since the program is designed to be implemented at a location where all the attendees and lecturers will be housed, there will be a lot of opportunities to interact even after the lecture sessions. After the course, the students can still interact with the professors online to assist in their learning and/or projects.

The aim of this program is to bridge the knowledge gap of our new geothermalist in order to enhance their contribution in increasing the geothermal capacity of our country. Other than PGPC, other companies who were invited to send representatives to this program are MGI, APRI and EDC. The program was designed for maximum participation of 25 students per module which will be shared amongst NGAP member companies including DOE
