Engr. Erlindo C. Angcoy, Jr., known to colleagues and friends as Ritchie, is the Head of Field Development Planning of the Integrated Subsurface group at Energy Development Corporation (EDC), Philippines. With a strong foundation in chemical engineering and geology, he plays a key role in shaping the direction of geothermal field development in one of the country’s leading renewable energy companies.

Ritchie holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines - Diliman and earned his MS in Geology (Geochemistry) from the University of Iceland, graduating First Class with Distinction under a prestigious scholarship from the United Nations University-Geothermal Training Program. His master’s thesis focused on geochemical modeling of the high-temperature Mahanagdong geothermal field in Leyte.

Throughout his career, Ritchie has exemplified leadership and service, having served as a Board Trustee of the National Geothermal Association of the Philippines (NGAP) and the UP Alumni Engineers (UPAE). He is also a founding member of the Kananga EDC Institute of Technology (KEITECH) Educational Foundation.

Among his recognitions is the 2018 Lopez Achievement Award for his vital role in EDC’s swift recovery and return to service following a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Leyte. That same year, he received the Professional Degree Award in Chemical Engineering from UPAE for his professional excellence and contributions to engineering practice.

Outside of his technical pursuits, Ritchie is a man of diverse passions—an avid lawn tennis player, a music and theater enthusiast, and a devoted church servant inspired by his role model, St. Joseph.
